JAPAN ICT FINDINGS WORK PART1
Working in Japan from a European perspective.
We all have lots of clichés and ideas in our heads when we hear about Japan, especially when it comes to work. Many of them are true, such as working very late and taking a nap during lunch break.
However, I discovered other facts that are not always mentioned. The friendliness at work, the breaks where we talk about everything and nothing, in short, a European lifestyle.
It was my first time in Japan.
My daily routine was train - convenience store - work - family - sleep. Transportation was a good way to observe and quietly immerse myself in a culture whose codes I didn't understand.
I quickly got used to the Japanese way of life. I liked the energy that emanated from the head office. Everyone works towards the same goal; work is less individual than in France. Everything is much more collaborative.
Working in Japan is like a marathon but in sprint mode; consistency is key.
I got used to the many rules, but I was able to maintain my freedom in terms of working hours. I was able to take advantage of the headquarters by going to different departments and participating in several projects.
I worked on architecture, branding, and interior design. The variety of topics covered was enriching for me. I came away fulfilled and full of new encounters and people with whom I hope to stay in touch in the future!
ヨーロッパ人の視点から見た日本での働き方
日本について、特に仕事に関して、私たちは多くの固定観念やイメージを抱いています。例えば、夜遅くまで働くとか、昼休みに仮眠を取るなど、その多くは事実です。
しかし私は、あまり語られない別の事実も発見しました：親しみやすい職場の雰囲気、何でも話せる休憩時間 。つまりヨーロッパ的なライフスタイルです。
私が日本に来たのは初めてでした。
毎日の日課は、電車通勤、コンビニ、仕事、家族、そして睡眠。交通機関は、私には理解できない文化のルールを観察し、そこへ静かに溶け込むのに最適な場所でした。
日本の生活様式にもすぐに慣れました。本社から伝わってくるエネルギー、全員が同じ目標に向かって働き、フランスほど個人主義的ではなく、全ての業務においてはるかに協力的です。
日本で働くことは、マラソンをスプリントモードで走るようなもの。持続性が鍵となります。
数多くのルールに慣れた一方で、勤務時間に関しては自由度を保てました。本社という環境を活かし、様々な部署を回り、複数のプロジェクトに参加できました。
建築、ブランディング、インテリアデザインに携わりましたが、扱うテーマの多様性のお陰で、豊かな経験を積むことができました。充実感と共に、新たな出会いや、今後も交流を続けたいと思う人々との絆を得て、この地を後にしました。
